活動詳情 About The Event

We’re pleased to invite Malaysian teachers Hor Tuck Loon & Chan Lai Fun to Hong Kong again to teach and support our ongoing journey of understanding, with a series of talks and workshops on Saturday Aug 13, Sunday Aug 14, and Monday Aug 15.

Tuck and Lai Fun are Malaysian teachers who have been students of Sayadaw Tejaniya for over a decade, and vipassana practitioners for over 20 years. They teach at Clove&Clive (www.clovenclive.com), their center in Kuala Lumpur. With profound pointing and guiding, they bring the teachings of wise application of mindfulness of mind to daily lives in simple, practical, yet deeply perception-shifting ways, emphasizing right understanding as the essence of meditation practice.

Don't miss this precious opportunity to experience a whole new level of understanding about life, the nature of our minds, and the right understanding of meditation, which Tuck and Lai Fun offers through light-hearted and explanatory sharings and reflections. Rather than meditation techniques or extended sits, Tuck and Lai Fun's aim is to help you realize what the Buddha realize, at whatever level you are capable of, by pointing to the indisputable true nature of reality: impermanence, unsatisfactoriness, and non-self.

Limited spaces, please register early to prevent disappointment.

Mindfulness (Awareness) Meditation is mind-work to transform the mind through Wise Views and Skillful Attitude. It is NOT work done by the body/posture nor by objects/experiences. You will be trained to develop wisdom-based wholesome states of mind which will lead to a stress-free life. It is as simple as realizing what is already found in the Now, yet unnoticed at this moment. Through this workshop, you will learn, explore and realise for yourself the views and attitudes blocking you from within. With the introduction of the “3-Yogi-Jobs” starting with Wise View and Skilful Attitude, you will find undoing old conditioning a breeze and that would ultimately lead you to true and lasting peace, freedom and happiness.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Hor Tuck Loon 何德伦 has been guiding meditation for the past 30 years, drawing parallels from many ancient wisdom teachings and also from his years of experience in the journey of Insight Meditation. Tuck Loon offers a contemporary approach to meditation through various courses, workshops and weekend retreats. His unique style of pointing and sharing provokes reflection and discussion. Using mindfulness+wisdom as a tool, he skilfully guides participants into understanding how recognising the mechanics of the mind brings about freedom and happiness.

Tuck Loon is the co-founder of Clove&Clive. He has benefit much from his first meeting with Sayadaw U Tejaniya in 2002 and has since does retreat with him in Myanmar nearly annually. Before that he was practising under the Mahasi Sayadaw’s tradition.

He has assisted Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, in compiling two books entitled “Letting Everything Become Your Teacher” and “Arriving At Your Own Door”. Tuck Loon has written a small compilation entitled “Love Wisdom” and several articles for community distribution. He also writes regularly on his blog at www.illusiontoreality.com.

A project is on the pipeline where he envisioned a retreat centre, nestled in the pristine forest in Janda Baik, Pahang, for practitioners to do more regular retreats. A foundation by the acronym of WISE (Wisdom Inspired Supportive Endeavour) has been set up for the managing of this project.

----

Chan Lai Fun 陈丽奋 has been questioning the meaning of life since her earlier childhood days, and this has somehow attracted her into exploring the many meditation retreats and workshops beginning 1984. Her first encounter with Sayadaw U Tejaniya in 2002 made a profound shift in how she viewed meditation and since then it has seen her meditating with Sayadaw yearly. Prior to that, she was an ardent practitioner of the Mahasi Sayadaw’s tradition.

Her structured style of sharing mindfulness techniques brings about deep clarity and understanding to participants as testified from the numerous courses conducted since mid-90s. Working with mindfulness+wisdom, her courses centers around developing mindfulness+wisdom-based living.
