About the Teachers:
Eva Li is a registered nutritionist, mindfulness meditation practitioner and long-term HKIMS volunteer. Over the years, you might have met her at Fa Hong Monastery as a fellow retreat participant, retreat support volunteer, retreat manager or a cook.
Eva started water fasting about 15 years ago. Initially she started with regular 1-day water fasting but gradually moved to longer fasts. Over the years, she felt that fasting helped her to gain a better understanding about her relationship with food and brought more clarity when separating cravings/greed from the natural needs of the body. She also noticed the changes of the mind and the gradual increase of concentration during meditation practice while fasting. Her own experience with fasting motivated her to start fasting retreats for experienced mindfulness meditation practitioners at Fa Hong monastery.
Angela Spaxman is a highly qualified leadership coach, a mindfulness meditation practitioner and guide, and a facilitator of Insight Dialogue, the Buddhist practice of relational mindfulness. Since 2020 Angela has been a regular retreat leader at Fa Hong Monastery especially guiding a variety of short retreats with different topics, including mindful fasting, mindful hiking, mindful communications, mindful cooking and more.
In this retreat, Angela will support the participants’ process with daily guided meditations, Insight Dialogue and optional one-on-one support on request.
