活動詳情 About The Event

And how do you look after others by looking after yourself? By development, cultivation, and practice of meditation.

And how do you look after yourself by looking after others? By acceptance, harmlessness, love, and sympathy.

- Sedeka (Acrobat) Sutta, Samyutta Nikaya 47.19.

We wanted to offer this course as an intentional beginning to 2024, to guide our individual and collective exploration of what we need for our practice in the coming year.

In this 4 week online facilitated series, we will base our exploration on this sutta. Using Insight Dialogue practice and the guidelines, we investigate and experience for ourselves the qualities and conditions for internal and relational balance and care, to support the deepening of mindfulness and kindness in our lives.

Through the 4 weeks, we will use the relationship between the two acrobats in the sutta as a metaphor for our exploration of:

  • Mindfulness - the stable base for caring for self and other
  • Kindness and care - opening from oneself to others
  • Internal balance and harmony- balance within oneself
  • Interdependence in relationship - balance between self and other

Each session will include a guided meditation, small group Insight Dialogue practice in dyads/triads, as well as large group practice.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

We welcome Insight Dialogue practitioners and regular meditators with Insight Dialogue experience (familiar with Insight Dialogue Guidelines and practice format).

We kindly ask that you commit to attending all sessions to support your learning and the group.

Your schedule and conditions will support you, as much as possible, to join the sessions from a quiet, settled location with stable wifi/data connection and your video on.

FEES: This course is being offered without charge and we invite participants to enter into this circle of generosity to offer dana (freewill donation) to support the teachers and the teachings.
